We've taken a light-touch approach to managing Singe Wood while we learn more about its ecology and residents. It is unlikely, however, that Singe Wood's soils have been disturbed since the 12th century, making today's woodland a valuable ‘building block’ for restoring and expanding more semi-natural habitats in the Wychwood. In the 1930s, Singe Wood was managed by a timber merchant and was significantly thinned-today you can see this in the unusual ‘coppice’ regrowth of some oak trees in the wood, which demonstrate about a century of regeneration. Though intermittently harvested over the centuries, Singe Wood is the descendent of true ancient Wychwood woodland and is now the largest remaining fragment in the parish of Hailey. It adds a new Infuse keyword that absorbs anima from your friendly minions, a new card type named Locations, and more. This wonderful woodland came to us by the kind generosity of Barbara and Val Payne, whose late father John wished to make the Wychwood Forest Trust the future custodians of his cherished wood. Murder at Castle Nathria is Hearthstone's latest expansion. It might not quite make the cut because of the stats, but I’m certainly going to try this one in combo maly druid. Against decks where you need to combo, you play oaken summons, pull this out of your deck and then draw another card at least once. Whilst 1/6 stats stink, it’s not useless against paladin, and they might leave it up for you to buff it into a much more useful 2+ attack minion with branching paths. Currently I run fandral over senjin since it’s effectively a taunt anyway, with occasional upside if it lives. Personally I like to have more than just the two golems, as getting a minion off both summons is really good for thinning your deck and getting to the combo faster. ![]() Oaken summons is very strong but limits what early game minions you can play. Never played any mill, but combo druid is strong in both formats currently, because it can handle Paladins with the oaken summons-golem package and plagues/swipes, and can out-armour mage’s burn with branching paths, summons, malfurion, etc, as well as having the combo win for slower decks. I do think it has some potential despite the bad stats. Losing coldlight hurts mill potential though. ![]() Jade Idol rotates but they do still have the 3/5 that deathrattles back into your deck. Mill Druid might not be a viable archetype as Jade Idol will be rotating with the release of The Witchwood, but who knows? Perhaps Forest Guide could be fuel for the hand size theme that was alluded to during Monday's card reveal stream.ĭo you think Forest Guide will be a hot new commodity, or a hot mess? Let us know what you think about this new card in the comment section, and be sure to check out our Witchwood Hub for more information about the upcoming set! Giving your opponent a draw is a very substantial drawback if you're playing a fair deck, but a combo deck would happy to nab a few draws off Forest Druid as it modestly plays to the board. The power level of Forest Guide seems entirely dependent on the viability of mill and combo Druid. Though I understand why Forest Guide wasn't printed as a Neutral card, Warriors and Rogues will be quite sad to not add this card to their arsenal. ![]() We're saying goodbye to Coldlight Oracle, but Druids can say hello to Forest Guide.Ī spicy new Druid minion was revealed today by Ryo on her Youtube channel. It appears to be the spiritual successor to Coldlight Oracle, a card that will be entering the hall of fame with the release of The Witchwood:įorest Guide isn't going to win many games with its 1/6 body, but the ability on it is exactly the kind of thing that a mill or combo deck is looking for.
